Dan studied painting and drawing at Rochester Institute of Technology and also at The Brooklyn Museum Art School. He attended Pratt Institute of Technology where he received a BFA and a MFA.

For many years, Dan was associated with the Brooklyn Museum’s Design Department as a Graphic Designer and an Exhibit Designer.

Dan is a member of the American Alliance of Museums, the Artists Alliance of East Hampton, Art in Context and The Wednesday Group Plein Air Painters of the East End.

Dan’s early paintings were figurative with strong influences from teachers such as Philip Pearlstein, Jacob Lawrence and Ed Ruda. In the 1980’s Dan started painting landscapes in watercolor, pastel and oil. He went outdoors to find nature as his subject in Prospect Park, the East End of Long Island and the Outer Banks at Nags Head North Carolina.

Currently, Dan paints still lifes and studio landscapes in his Brooklyn studio in the winter and in the summer he paints plein air paintings with The Wednesday Group.

Dan exhibits in local group art shows. His work is also available from his Studio, by appointment.
